Top 10 Posts of 2015 on Flower Patch
2015 is now counting down and 2016 will be here before we know it. It is always so hard to believe a year has passed, it seems to swiftly flit by.
I enjoyed sharing so much here with you all and it is nice to look back and see what you all seemed to find the most interesting.
We will work backwards from 10 to 1 (If you click on a link it will open in a new window.)
#10 Rooting Lilacs from Cuttings
It seems a lot of folks are wanting to start their own lilacs, this post was a smash hit back in May.
#9. Learn to Paint Shabby Pink Roses
I love painting roses and I enjoy sharing how to even more. It seems many of my viewers come here just for the painting tutorials.
#8 Learn to Paint Tulips
The video accompanying this post is the most viewed on my YouTube channel though I have a couple others that are quickly catching up. I am going to be adding a new video soon of me painting a canvas with tulips in it. Stayed tuned!
#7 Learn How to Paint a Chickadee Bird
This has been a very popular one and I even released a pattern packet for purchase, which has been very popular. Chickadees are such sweet birds and so easy to paint.
#6. Build Your Own Crafting Cottage or Garden Shed
One of my most prized gifts from my hubby. I showed him photo of a little girls playhouse in a magazine and told him I wanted one of my own. And this is what I got. The most glorious She Shed!
In a few days it will be exactly 10 years from when we started building this together.
#5 Easy Garden Obelisk
I love the look of obelisks in the garden for adding interest and height but I did not like the price tag I found on most, and that included plans to build them. One was over $100 to build it myself. I figured we could do better and we did. I loved this one so much we did another design called Easy Obelisk 2 and then I designed an Arbor made from the obelisks for my Secret Garden.
#4. Paint Sunflowers
I really need to update this Sunflower painting post to include painting a side view and curling petals. I shall get to that sometime this next year and re-post. I know many will find it helpful if they decide to try and paint my Fall Welcome sign.
#3. Learn to Paint Hydrangeas
Sometimes the simplest posts are the most loved. Even though the video is less than stellar this one gets a lot of hits on YouTube.
#2 How to Paint Flowers
This one isn’t really a post, but a page that has links to all my flower painting tutorials on the blog for easy reference. Many like the convenience of having a photo reference of all the posts related to painting flowers.
And for the #1 post for 2015 ….
I thought my other rose painting tutorial, the one at #9 was better than this one but everyone seems to prefer my first rose tutorial. I did re-do the video and made it available as a DVD for those who have a hard time with streaming from YouTube.
So with this enlightening look back at this year and what it is many like to see, I will be working on more and more painting posts. Though I do love doing my garden posts and a few recipes too so those will be slipped in as well.
Who am I kidding….. I fly by the seat of my pants here and just post what I am working on or in the mood for. I hope you enjoy the ride.
Happy End of 2015!
