Some of my favorite things right now. This is a list of what I am finding most helpful in my busy life at this moment.
Being a busy business woman means keeping everyday life as easy as possible. I am sure many of these things can also be helpful to others. It is an eclectic mix so something for everyone but these are my favorite things at the moment.
Each of these items are things that I have used for awhile and I absolutely love them!
What is even more wonderful is they are on sale at great prices this week!
My camera equipment. A good DSLR makes blogging a joy. I started with the Nikon D5100, which I have used for several years for both photos and videos. It has served me well and I continue to use it.
Recently I have upgraded to a Nikon D750 with 24-120mm lens. The benefit with the upgrade is it not only a full frame camera but it gets much better photos in low light conditions. Low light has not been much of an issue for me until now. I am going to be doing more indoor shots and the lighting is poor in my house. Right now this camera is available at an unreal price!
To keep from using up all my hard drive space from photos I keep them on external drives. I have two in case one goes belly up and I save all my documents to them as well. I have found this Seagate 2TB external drive to be a cinch to use and it has enough capacity to keep it all on (so far).
I have two favorite kitchen items that are making my life a bit easier as well. I bought this Instant Pot at the recommendation of Cami at Tidbits. I had heard of it but not really investigated it much since I have a pressure cooker and a crock pot already and I figured I didn’t need another kitchen gadget. I was wrong!
Those items are getting donated to a local thrift shop as this takes their place and I am in love with it. I have been using it quite a bit and I can tell you it is well worth the investment. And there are some great Instant Pot cookbooks available on Kindle as well as paper copies you can order.
I always poo pooed getting a electric glass kettle as I have a great tea kettle that went right on my stove. But after I accidentally boiled it dry by getting distracted outdoors and once leaving the house for a few hours while it was on the stove and melting the handle onto my stove top I figured I needed something that would turn itself off and not be a fire hazard! So new glass kettle it is and I have to say I love it too. It comes to a boil so much faster than on a stove top.
I have long hair that gets color treated and has a natural wave to it that can look quite witchy poo on humid days. One thing that I have found that is fabulous for my hair is 100% Organic Argan Oil. I have tried other products with Argan oil but they were always too perfumey. This has only a natural scent that you probably won’t even notice.
You can use this on your skin and your nails if you like as well.
That is all I can think of at the moment and I hope you find this helpful. I have a full list of painting supplies I use those of you enjoying my how to paint posts.
