She Shed Garden Cottage Organized

Do you have that one space that has gotten out of control?  Me too. It is time to get my She Shed Garden Cottage Studio organized.

Personally, I don’t really like the term She Shed.  So from here on out, I am going to refer to my sweet little space as my Flower Patch Cottage.  This post about getting my Flower Patch Cottage organized is going to be a month-long effort.

Want to see why I need that amount of time?

This is no joke and is out of control.  My cottage has been used as a dumping ground for new paints, canvas, and painting supplies of all sorts sent to me by different companies.

I also have several paintings I have finished and some hand-painted signs stacked around. I have shoved things around to be able to paint but it is making me bonkers!

It really is time to buckle down and tackle it.  The trouble is I still must paint and video some tutorials and I do not have a week straight to dedicate to just cleaning it out.

I must take it in increments.  This needs to be organized so I will be able to find things I need when I need them.

That will take finding suitable storage containers, marking them well, and shifting what I can to the basement (it is a steady cool climate in the basement perfect for storing paint).

One thing I have found indispensable has been this telescoping ladder. More on that later but it is great!

I can now get to the loft safely and easily then fold up this ladder and tuck it away in a jiffy.

I am going to post a progress shot next Monday and let you see how far I have come.

But for now, I need to get into the studio to create a painting tutorial!
Here is an entire post on what it can look like.  She Shed Cottage Inside

    Pamela,
My sewing room is where I need to organize! I’m giving myself the whole year but have a specific area for each month. I have a comfy old arm chair where I sit to needlepoint, hand stitch quilt bindings or read. My January goal is to find the chair!!! I’m serious. I’ll see how I do. I’m always optimistic.
By the way, I really enjoy your blog. I think you’re ultra talented and someday I’m going to learn to paint from your tutorials. I wish you a happy new year and luck with your organizing!🌻

Seeing your workspace makes me feel like I’m understood! My husband asked me if we were really twins! Just to clean a space to work on one project takes fortitude and really, it’s just moving piles to a new place! Than you, thank you, thank you for being REAL! Here’s to you, “Sis”

  5. I love the name of your garden shed, Pinecone Cottage! We live among tall pines, cedars and firs. That would be so fitting. No cleaning today, I have to get videoing some tutorials. After I am satisfied they are well on their way I can get back to organizing and cleaning. 🙂

  6. Hi Pamela,
I am with you on that term ‘she shed’. It is not my favorite either. Forgive me for the massive smile because your Creative Cottage looks like my office. My garden shed ‘Pinecone Cottage’ is the one place that I am able to keep clean. Thanks for the inspiration! I’ll let you get back to cleaning.
