DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint in Refreshing on a Little Stool, so I dubbed this a Refreshing Little Stool!DecoArt Chalky Finish in Refresing on an old Stool, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comIt has been one of those days..you wake up early thinking you will get some very necessary work done on the computer, which includes needing the internet and there is no internet.  Your modem is not showing any lights where it should and nothing you do seems to resurrect it.   When you operate your businesses online having the ‘net’ go down is incredibly stressful and frustrating.  Shopping for a new internet provider just became priority #1.
Funny enough I was just shopping yesterday for just that and having the mishap of this morning made the final decision to make the leap to a new provider.  It is not just the internet involved, it is more work than just that.  I have websites I have to move as well and my schedule is already booked thru next Tuesday.  Sigh!  But, it shall be done.
Okay, enough whining from me.  On to the fun stuff.  This week I have been working on a few custom order signs and the adorable little stool.
I painted the base with DecoArts Chalky Finish paint in Refreshing, which in the tub looks more mint green.  Surprisingly it comes out with more blue in it than I thought it would but I do love it.  I sanded along the edges to distress it slightly.
The top is painted with Decoarts Chalky Finish in Lace, an heirloom type white that is the perfect foil for the Refreshing.
I drew out a pattern of roses and a bird to paint on the seat…I am not sure you can make them out, they are very faint…
Refreshing little Stool, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comI painted on the leaves, as you can see and then started the roses, one I was not happy with so I wiped it off..that is about as far as I got.
Refreshing Green stool, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comAs for the signs, I finished and shipped these.  They are a gift for twin boys from their parents. Obviously they have their own tastes in hobbies.
We Heart You All the Time, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comAnd I am still working on these, this one needs to be changed up, both the customer and I decided it just did not look right in the grey colors she requested.  So now I am tasked to make it more beachy.  It definitely needs some AQUA! I also think I need to redo the starfish so there is 5 and not 4 but we shall see if I go that far in changing this up.
Aquadesiac hand painted sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comAnd last but not least a great garden sign…I need to add in some Pansies to make it complete.  I misunderstood the order and thought the customer only wanted the Hydrangeas, but adding the pansies will be easy enough. The lettering needs a bit of touching up as well.
Rebeccas Garden hand painted sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comAnd a frivolous flower photo to brighten your day or evening whichever it is where you are at…
Pow Wow Echinacea Coneflower, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comThis is Pow Wow Echinacea and it is a stunner, a more magenta color and more compact than your standard Echinacea and grows from seed.  I need to start more of these for my garden, they are very drought tolerant.
I will come back and share the finished stool in all its glory so check back! I promise to take better photos.
So what have you been up to?
