Iris Farm Visit
Come with me as we make an Iris Farm Visit!
Last weekend it was warm and sunny and so gorgeous. I learned of an Iris Farm not too far from home and we decided a sweet day trip was in order!
It was more than worth the drive.
I will share just a few photos but here is the internet address to the Iris Farm Website where you can find some of the beauties for your very own garden.
Pleasant’s Valley Farm
The farm is nestled in the foothills not far off I80 near Vacaville.
Acres of glorious color greets you as you drive up. It is rather breathtaking.
But the real fun starts when you can get up close and personal.
The detail on the petals make for a very artistic presentation.
There are so many variations that it nearly boggles the mind.
I could not choose a favorite..
Endless inspiration for paintings.
I need to find this one in their catalog, I do not have this delicate apricot color in my garden…..yet
This next one is definitely on my list of ones to get..it is called Bewilderbeast..
The yellows mixed with purple are so striking too…
Did I mention I can’t pick a favorite?? Though I did keep getting drawn in by this one (my photo is poor, it is such lovely combo though simple)
They had a couple patches of them, they are called That’s All Folks, and each time I walked past it I thought “I want that one”.
Of course I most likely said that to myself all throughout our visit but it was a bit more insistent with That’s All Folks.
I did purchase this next one, it is so unusual, it will get a place of honor in my garden, it is called Huckleberry Fudge.
I have tons more photos but I will save them for another day. Maybe next Sunday I will share more.
I am headed out to my garden for a bit of a morning walk. After the pouring rain yesterday I am sure my flowers are dancing with glee!
Have a wonderful day!
If you have Iris in your garden, they are easy enough to Divide and replant to spread the beauty..I share how here
It’s a beautiful farm. The flowers are so pretty. I would like to visit this farm in the future & see those flowers personally.
I do love where we live. An easy drive to the ocean, Central Valley or the desert, whatever takes your fancy.
The purple and yellow striped Iris are indeed stunning. And, those California hills, what a great place to live.
