How was your weekend? We were away again and as refreshing as it was I am so ready to be home.
I took a morning walk to see what had bloomed while we were away. So many new flowers have popped open, there was something fun to see at every turn.
I shall share some with you..
this Iris is always a treat for the eyes..
I shared this both the above and this next one on Instagram, they were a hit with everyone. I cannot recall the names of them and I do have it written on a garden map, but that has been filed away and I need to find it. This next one is right next to the front porch of my studio/cottage. The pink blur in the background is a Foxglove.
I had to move some Iris just before they bloomed and though that is totally the WRONG time to move them I had great success as they all bloomed despite the move..I will share how I did it in a post soon. Just in case you need to move your Iris in the Spring too.
My Superstition Iris is stunning. In the direct sunlight you can see it is really the deepest of purples and not black.
Some roses also began to bloom. This is a climber called Candyland.
And my Golden Celebration, (David Austin English rose)
I tried to get a overall shot of the front garden and the arbor with the roses on it but it just did not turn out very sharp.
Last but not least the California poppies that freely reseeded themselves last summer are a bright splash of orange.
Tomorrow and Wednesday I am booked but I hope to get a painting tutorial done on Thursday. I was thinking a poppy or carnation flower. Not sure which yet.
I wish you all a wonderful week!

That Superstition Iris is mind-boggling, but the first photographed Iris is my favorite…it is perfection.
The garden looks so beautiful!

I am still so amazed at the diversity in Iris. Just when you don’t thing they can come up with another, they do.

I’ve only recently stumbled upon your blog and am now a follower! Your photography, painting and writing exude serenity! Thank you for sharing. My favorite flower is the carnation so that would be my vote on the new tutorial.
Pamela says
Well then a carnation it will be. Thank you for the input. I am so glad you stumbled upon me. I try to make my blog a place of enjoyment and relaxation.
