Happy Spring and a Paint Party

Painting Party Paris Bicycle

paint Party is over. More to come, I hope.

Now on to some Spring flowers.  You won’t be disappointed.  I tried to get as many photos as I could in the short amount of time I had to walk along all the barrels at Ironstone so this post is loaded with photos and may be slow to load for some of you. Be patient and stick around, I promise it will be worth your while if you are a flower lover.

As you approach there is always so many lovely blooms awaiting…ignore the blur to the right, I had to obscure some people.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (49 of 77)There are still many gorgeous daffodils along with tulips.

Even more tulips will replace the daffodils as they fade so when I go back in a couple weeks it will be a different scene again.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (4 of 77)I am having trouble painting them to my liking so I took quite a few close ups of different ones to get them at different angles.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (5 of 77)When you really study them you realize how many different forms there are on daffodils.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (43 of 77)Last year I attended the Daffodil Society show and competition.  I learned so much, half of which I have forgotten, I am sure, but it was really interesting.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (44 of 77)I always get a ton of photos when I go, much more than I can share in one post but I do share more over the weeks on my Facebook page.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (2 of 77)Tulips are always a favorite of mine here.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (8 of 77)Thankfully they label them fore you so if you find a particular one you just must have in your home garden you can track it down.
I like the form of this one below, I think I shall try to paint it.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (14 of 77)I took photos of all angles of the tulips too.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (18 of 77)The insides are just as lovely as the outside.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (17 of 77)When the sun warms them up they open up wide, it was 74 degrees and quite toasty feeling in the sunshine.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (26 of 77)Can you feel how warm it is?  You are wishing you wore shorts as jeans are a bit too heavy this day.
This beauty only had one bloom partially open, I need to go back and get more photos of it, I am sure more have opened up.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (31 of 77)Barrels full of Hyacinths were blooming too, so you know the sweet scent was keeping me company as I wandered along.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (47 of 77)They has some fun sculptures on display by the walkway to the museum.  I thought my nephews would get a kick out of these.

Here is a close up of the Dutch Iris next to these bad boys. I have a batch of these in this color along my front walkway.  Mine have popped up a bit but the leaves have been burnt by some cold, I hope it hasn’t affected the blooms.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (61 of 77)Ironsones walkways full of blooming barrels extend many directions and there is always more at every turn. Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (50 of 77)If you ever get to come to the foothills of California, it is well worth the effort to visit Ironstone Winery for the flower displays alone especially this time of year.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (68 of 77)It is so refreshing as we emerge from the grays of winter and are greeted with such exuberant displays of color.
Many newbie visitors where here today and they kept exclaiming with delight at every turn, they vowed to return.
I can’t blame them, I have been coming here for years and I still look forward to it.  Even in mid winter they have something blooming out here.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (72 of 77)The azaleas and camellias were in full bloom too but I failed to get photos of them.  So another trip is in order before they fade.
Plus the wisteria walk is just getting started and it is amazing when in full bloom.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (73 of 77)This walkway covered with different colors of wisteria extends for quite a ways.  It has tables and chairs situated prettily for picnics or just a rest to enjoy the scenery all along it.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (74 of 77)There is a pretty little stream that meanders along in the garden running beside the Wisteria walk and pretty lilies and other gorgeous things to explore.
Ironstone March 2016, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.com (76 of 77)It is supposed to be showery today but if it is light enough I may take a drive to Ironstone for more flower therapy.  I need to get some photos of the other pretties blooming that I missed on Friday.
