Hand Painted Pieces from the Past

Deli & Desserts hand painted sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comI have been hand painting signs and selling them since 1998.
I have a ton and I do mean a TON of photographs archived of my hand painted signs.
Since I am laid up for a few days (nasty flu bug) I thought it a good time to rename, organize and back up those photos.
I figured you all may wish to see some of my work from through the years.  I also have painted some pieces of furniture, like the chair above (that is unfinished in the photo) and this child’s rocker below.
childs rocker hand painted with roses, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comeI especially love painting flowers (if you had not guessed that yet) but I have also been asked to paint other motifs.  Some especially bright and colorful….
these two were for a soup kitchen in the Virgin Islands..
Victoria's Kitchen sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comThe soup kitchen was named for a local nun who worked for years among the needy there.  They requested a rainbow of colors and I think we accomplished that!
The customer asked that one sign have the angel wearing a pink dress and one with a blue, the sign below was not quite finished when I photographed it and for some reason I cannot find any of it finished.
I think I had taken the photograph to send to the customer to see if he wanted a border or not.
Victoria's Kitchen blue sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comI get a lot of orders for garden signs, so I suppose you could say I specialize in them.  Many requests have a story behind them.
George's Garden custom sign, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comUsually the customer lets me in on the joke but I can’t remember or I would share the stories with you too.

This next is one of my favorites and I still need to make it to hang above the door of my greenhouse.
Potting Shed with rose buds.  Potting Shed sign with rosebuds, FlowerPatchFarmhouse.comFor those of you trying to learn to paint and are following my series, I can only say that it won’t take long or much practice to be able to paint like this.  The more you paint the more you will love it.  Some even claim that taking up painting helped them combat depression.  Medicine for the soul.
I hoped you enjoy my little blast from the past…I will certainly be sharing more in the future.
