Good morning!

Are you ready to face a new year?  I am.  Not that the date on the calendar changes much, it is merely the way to mark time.  One day to the next is much the same, what you do with that time or what you dwell upon has more force on how you deal with life than a date.

A new year just makes us reflect on what we would like to accomplish, maybe set some goals and be more focused on those goals.  Personally I need to get more organized with my time, I have been going too many different directions the past few years that I am wasting time rather than accomplishing what I know is possible if I focus.

This statistic says it all: Multi-tasking decreases productivity by 20-40% more than those who focus on one project at a time.  The time lost switching among tasks increases the complexity of the those tasks. University of Michigan

So here is to focusing and regaining productivity.   Truth be told, I was more organized and productive when I was raising my 4 kids than I am now.

That being said, as I look ahead on what to provide here, what would you like to see more of here on Flower Patch?

I look forward to sharing more helpful ideas, lessons and tips in 2017!

    Hi, Pamela.

I enjoy your posts. They are so informative, especially the painting ones!
You are so right about how we are to spend our time. It reminds me of a Bible verse found in Psalms 90:12. “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
God wants us to live our lives to the fullest every day. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour when I was thirteen years of age. Ever since then, He has been showing me how I should be spending my time…..serving Him! After all, He is the creator of time.
I am looking forward to more of your wonderful posts!

  2. Thank you for responding to this Naomi, it is very helpful. If you wish you can choose the option for email of the garden posts mostly. In case you have not done that yet it is at the bottom of the email you get from me. Uncheck all boxes except the the garden one and you will get mostly garden posts and an occasional newsletter.
    Kindest Regards, Pamela.

  3. Feel free to put up the quote. I hope it is helpful for everyone.

  4. Thank you for that quote! I am a doctor who works with patients who are morbidly obese. It is VERY hard to lose weight once you have gained a lot of weight. Often, my patients also don’t feel very good about themselves, low self-esteem and have turned to food as either a friend or comfort. If I may I am going to put your quote up in my office.

    Happy New Year,
    Mary

  5. Hi, Pamela. Happy New Year to you, too!

In relation to your question about what people want to see on your blog I would have to say that the gardening posts are the most interesting to me as I love plants and am always wanting information about the best ways to care for them. I am not much of a painter, so the painting lessons, though sometimes interesting to me are usually not. What else? Project-type posts and tutorials always grab my attention, too.

I hope this helps with your plans for your blog.

  6. I’m lucky I’m very organized, got it from my mama, but I still can be overwhelmed with everything there is to do. I feel I don’t have the time to visit other bloggers like I used to and that saddens me, but I also have to focus on what needs to be done on my own site. I decided mid 2016 I’m not going to keep up with the “Jones” in the blogging word, I have to just be me and do what works for me. I’d love to have a bigger income from it but I’m also not willing to give up everything to make that happen. I did get my binders around for 2017 and have my bills, recipes, and blog calendar started and ready to go. I work better being organized! Happy New Year Pam!

Happy New Year Pamela ~ … must share that I worked for a large corporate & multi-tasking was the name of the game – on every job description from the bottom up!!! I knew then that research proved it was not productive or healthy – but to mention that – was shot down big time. I’m happily retired now – enjoying my art world to the moon! That being said, I would like to see more art classes – possible a page where we can share ea others work – spin ideas – ask questions …

    Cheers!
